The Exercise and Nutrition Survival Guide for Full-Time Missionaries

Hello! My name is Molly and I am an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner in training! As an LDS mother of 3 teenage boys who are preparing to serve missions and also as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and being involved with the many, many missionaries that come in and out of our little town here in Oregon, I decided to create this guide!  I largely got this idea from the sister missionaries in our area.  Time after time they would come to me asking for help with exercise and nutrition.  They wanted to feel good and stay fit while serving their missions and they wanted to learn simple tools and tricks to eat healthy as far as it was in their control. I would work out with them several mornings a week and even created a simple guide for them to use in their apartments when we couldn’t workout together.  They loved it and felt that taking those 20-30 minutes in the morning to move their bodies really helped them to be better missionaries physically, spiritually and mentally. As the news of my little “guide” started spreading to other elders and sisters, I was getting a constant request for it.  Thus the idea for this guide was born! So this is my baby and labor of love that I want to make available to missionaries everywhere and that I hope my own children will implement as well when they go on their missions!

This manual will include 90 days of simple workouts that missionaries can do in their apartments.  The only equipment required is a resistance band and their own body weight.  The workouts will be broken down into three 30 day calendars and will include full body resistance and HIIT workouts for maximum benefit in the shortest amount of time.  I will also provide nutritional tips and tricks that missionaries can integrate into their life that will be affordable, easy and quick.  Each workout will also include a short spiritual thought out of the scriptures or conference talks that go along with nourishing the body, mind and spirit.  And BONUS! To make it even easier and accessible to any sister or elder regardless of fitness level, I have also included simple pictures of each move and modification and intensification options.
